Safe Place

music and lyrics by Richard Franklin Morse
Years ago I had a stressed out anxiety ridden girlfriend. I was stopped at a traffic light thinking about what I wished I could tell her to set her at ease and the song sang itself to me. I played it for her and she cried. Then I forgot about the song, it was just a personal thing. A few years later I had another stressed out anxiety ridden girlfriend, played it for her and she cried, and made me promise to record it, so I kept the promise and here’s the recording. I added the line about shaking out her hair for her; she has magnificent hair and takes it down at the end of the day.
Safe Place

Come here baby, come here by my side
I know you’ve had a hard day, but you can leave it all behind
‘Cause you’re home now, darlin’ of mine
In your Safe Place

It’s time to let go, all your worries and cares
You can shake out your troubles when you take down your hair
And when you need me I’ll be there
In your Safe Place

Every woman needs a little time to go offline
Every woman needs a refuge from the daily grind
And you’ll always have a place to touch ground
Where you can lay yourr burden down
Oh darlin’

Come tomorrow go out and play rough (if you wanna)
But you’re with me now, you don’t have to be tough
Take it easy, oh my love
You’re in your Safe Place

Darlin’ the two of us together nothin’ we can’t do
We could sail away forever if we wanted to
Girl, you never have to feel alone
I’ll be your home away from home
Oh darlin’

Come here baby, come here by my side
I know you’ve had a hard day, but you can leave it all behind
‘Cause you’re home now, darlin’ of mine
In your Safe Place
